Jak Crawford claims his third win of the season in the F2 Feature Race at the 2025 British Grand Prix. In a race controlled by the rain, Crawford managed to hold onto the race win in a dramatic fashion.

The 2025 British Grand Prix has delivered for the fans and the F2 Feature Race was no different. After making a surge off the line, the Aston Martin Academy driver was able to hold off Dunne and hometown hero Browning claiming his second feature race win of the 2025 Season.

So Far This Weekend….

The F2 Qualifying at the 2025 British GP saw Victor Martins secure his first F2 pole position of the season. Alex Dunne qualified in second with Oak Crawford completing the top three. With a red flag being brought out halfway through the session, the times began to tumble after. After the final laps, Dunne was only six hundredths off Martins’ time.

In the Sprint Race, Leonardo Fornaroli took his first win of his formula career. Invicta’s Fornaroli managed to pass and pull away from Maini early, building a gap to the field. Sebastian Montoya continued his good form, managing to pick up another podium. Roman Stanek helped Invicta claim their first double podium of the season after finishing third.

After a downpour at Silverstone brought an early end to the F3 Feature Race, the F2 Drivers were prepared for a race filled with wet tyres and the potential change of a shower.

Lights Out

After a delayed start, the drivers were back racing in the F2 Feature race at the 2025 British Grand Prix. With all the drivers on wet tyres it was Jak Crawford who had the best start moving into the lead.

Martins, who was looking to secure his first win of the season, failed to get moving quickly, dropping down into third. With still so much water on the road, there was minimal visibility as they made their way around Silverstone.

Hometown heroes Arvid Lindblad and Luke Browning had an intense battle for eighth, with the Red Bull Junior struggling to keep a charging Browning behind.

Following his disqualification at the Austrian GP, Dunne needed a good result at Silverstone to keep his championship hopes afloat. Dunne managed to keep his podium spot off the line, maintaining a gap of around two seconds behind Crawford for majority of the race.

No Stopping Hitech

Luke Browning went from strength to strength around his home race circuit. The Williams Academy driver, who only managed to qualify 12th, moved up to seventh by the end of lap 4.

Browning made his move around championship leader Richard Verschoor. While Hitech teammate Dino Beganovich was quick to follow, bumping Verschoor down into 9th.

Browning and Beganovich were two of the fastest on track moving through the field lap by lap.

Montoya was next. Both Hitech cars were thriving in the rainy conditions, moving past into sixth and seventh respectively.

It soon became a four way fight for fourth place. Roman Stanek, Joshua Durksen, Browning and Beganovich all in the fight to challenge for the podium. On lap 9, Browning managed to make another move into Copse. After cutting back on Stanek, Browning charged after Durksen. Browning charged into fourth place, chasing down Victor Martins for third.

After three more laps, Browning was all over the back of the AIX Racing driver. On lap 12, Browning dived into Luffield, moving himself into fourth.

Behind them, the fight was on for the final points paying positions. Linblad and sprint race winner, Fornaroli had been going back and forth in their positions. Behind them, Pepe Marti and Gabriele Mini joined the fight. The four drivers who were all fighting for tenth created their own train behind Verschoor.

DRS Enabled

On lap 15, DRS was finally enabled. With Crawford and Dunne holding s steady lead over the front of the field, it was polesitter Martins who was in trouble.

After an incident in the sprint race yesterday, Martins and Browning were back battling again. With both Williams Academy Drivers both aiming to get onto the podium, Martins wouldn’t give up.

Across the whole field, tyre degradation became a significant issue. With the track slowly starting to dry, the wet tyres from the start of the race were starting to lose their grip.

Martins struggled to manage both Luke Browning and his tyres. On lap 19, Browning once again made his move around Luffield, surging past on the entrance to the corner.

Crawford was next to suffer from tyre degradation. The American driver, who is looking to celebrate the 4th of July weekend in style coming under pressure from Dunne. After spending 20 laps out of his the DRS range, the McLaren backed driver moves closer to Crawford.

With only 9 laps of the F2 Feature Race left, many of the drivers were yet to pit. In a race, where tyre strategy went out the door. Many of the constructors were keeping their drivers out, hoping for a late safety car.

Safety Car Out

Gabriele Mini was one of the first to take the gamble, diving into the pits to replace his degraded wet tyres withy shiny new slicks. However, this didn’t last long. Only one corner out of the pit exit, Mini collided with Goethe, who had just boxed for fresh wets. With the lack of grip on the circuit evident, Mini was now out of the race and hit with a 10 second time penalty.

The Yellow Flag was out and a few of the frontrunners started to pit. Browning was the first to pit, making his way onto another set of wet tyres. Crawford and Dunne both stayed out for another lap, with the former driving into the pits just as the Virtual safety car was called. With many unsure if the Dams Lucas Oil Driver was over the pit entry line before the VSC was called, it will be up to the stewards to decide after the race.

With Lindblad setting the fastest lap of the race on fresh wets, it was now clear to everyone what the voice of tyre would be.

After two laps under the virtual safety car, a full safety car was deployed on lap 25, with every other driver who hadn’t boxed for new tyres now making their way to pits. In what would be a tight exit at the front of the field. Crawford managed to maintain his lead, while Dunne just edged out Browning for second. Many were unsure of Dunne would make it out in front after he was stuck behind his Rodin Motorsport teammate Cordeel for the duration of the VSC.

Green Flag and another Safety Car

With fans at the circuit hoping for a final two lap sprint to end the race, many were left disappointed. After spending a further three laps under the Safety Car, the drivers were ready to get racing.

After backing everybody up, Crawford was quick to get away, solidifying his lead as Dunne and Browning trailed behind.

Chaos erupted on the Hamilton Straight as Durksen spun of on the entry, stalling his car alongside the pit wall. Victor Martins picked up damage as well, dropping out of the points in what has been a frustrating weekend fro the Frenchman.

The F2 Feature Race at the 2025 British Grand Prix ended under a second safety car. Jak Crawford claims his third win of the 2025 season. Alex Dunne made up significant ground in his championship fight, moving into third behind Verschoor and Crawford. Browning rounded out the podium in third in what has been a redemption race for his home Grand Prix weekend.

We are now over halfway through the 2025 F2 Season. The driver will head Spa-Francorchamps for Round 9 on the 25th until the 27th of July, 2025.
