The Sauber led operation has chosen to appoint Alessandro Alunni Bravi as Formula One Team Representative for the 2023 season and beyond.
Alunni Bravi will take up the role alongside his existing position as Sauber Group Managing Director, having been with the team since 2017.

The appointment of F1 Team Representative shows the clear direction new CEO Andreas Seidl is taking the team – this allows him to focus fully on expanding the Sauber Group and prepare the team for an exciting future whilst Alunni Bravi uses his knowledge of the team to lead the race operation.
The ex-Mclaren team principal Andreas Seidl began his role at the head of the Sauber Group at the start of January, following the departure of previous CEO and team principal Fred Vasseur.
When this move was announced, initial assumptions were that Seidl would act in the team principal position as Vasseur did.
In the absence of a team principal, the day to day race operation duties will be taken up by the team representative.

Sauber will lose Alfa Romeo sponsorship at the end of 2023 as they prepare for an Audi takeover, becoming a works team with the German manufacturer in 2026.
The next three years are a crucial time for the Hinwil outfit and Seidl’s actions prove his devotion to the progression of the team in the long term.
