2024 Le Mans 24 Hours: Full Entry List

via 24 Heures du Mans

Scheduled for 15th June, the 2024 Le Mans is ready to kick off its 92nd edition at the Circuit de la Sarthe, France. This year’s ‘extra-special’ races will include 62 cars and 186 drivers across three classes.

However, it is surely to be an unpredictable showdown, with 12 past champions and an all-female team among the contenders. Before its ‘lights out and here we go’, keep your eyes rolling and glance at the full line-up of the 2024 Le Mans.

23 cars ready for the century’s biggest hypercar showdown at 2024 Le Mans

The 2024 Le Mans is ready to host the biggest hypercar showdown of the century, with ‘record-breaking’ 23 cars geared up for a ‘hyper’ face off at the Circuit de la Sarthe in France. The hyperclass features nine different manufacturers: Alpine, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Isotta Fraschini, Lamborghini, Peugeot, Porsche, Toyota. But, the line-up has grown from 19 to 23, owing to extra cars from Cadillac, Lamborghini, and Porsche.

As extra, Action Express’ V-Series R will mark its return as #311. The second new entry includes another V-Series R as Cadillac’s #2 hypercar. Porsche will also have a third factory car, with Penske bringing its #4 to the race.

Lamborghini will enter a second Iron Lynx-run SC63, which will run as #19. It is one of the two LMDh-spec hypercars–alongside the Alpine A424–that will run for the first time in the 24-hour race.

But, the major surprise is the inclusion of a second Proton Competition Porsche 963 in the reserve list. As predicted, Isotta Fraschini will not run a second Tipo 6.

16 LMP2s to gear up for the challenging 2024 Le Mans race

Another surprise is the size of the LMP2 line-up, which is 16 cars for the 2024 Le Mans. It is one more than the specified minimum of 15 slots. The highly popular Gibson-powered Oreca 07s comprise all 16 cars.

The Oreca 07 Gibson’s are marking their return at Le Mans this year. Five LMP2 cars are heading to La Sarthe via automatic invitations, while the remaining 11 are coming from the ELMS full-season entry list.

23-Car LMGT3 Line-up will see the Iron Dames back

The Goodyear-shod LMGT3 class has a bumper field of 23 GTs from nine manufacturers, including Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, Lexus, McLaren, and Porsche.

Aside of the 18 full-season FIA WEC cars, two entries are via earned invitations. This pack comprises the #44 Ford Mustang from Proton Competition and the #70 Inception Racing McLaren.

The final three GTs are all Ferraris taking part as full-season ELMS entries. JMW Motorsport’s #66 296 GT3 starts this Italian pack. The remaining Ferrari 296 GT3s are #86 GR Racing and Spirit of Race’s #155.

Moreover, an all-female Iron Dames crew will be driving the #85 Huracan GT3 Evo2. The team’s line-up features an all-European ‘girl-power’ with Doriane Pin, Sarah Bovy, and Michelle Gatting.

7 cars on the 2024 Le Mans reserve list

As reserves, the 2024 Le Mans list also counts in seven cars- 1 hypercar, 3 LMP2s, and 3 LMGT3s. Five reserves from this seven-car list are full-season ELMS cars.

Nevertheless, the first outlier is Proton Competition’s #79 Porsche 963 hypercar. Staysail Motorsports keeps the second non-regular ELMS slot, with its American-flagged #74 ORECA. Specifically, the ELMS regular Michael Dinan will be behind the wheels of this Gibson-powered 07.
