With no live coverage of the F1 Academy, it comes as quite the surprise to most, that the F1 Academy will get the Drive To Survive treatment in a new docuseries.

F1 Academy Partners With Hello Sunshine
Formula 1 has just announced a partnership with production company Hello Sunshine for a new docuseries covering the all-female F1 Academy.
Hello Sunshine are leaders in telling inspirational female stories which makes this the perfect partnership. It is hoped that the series will reach a global audience and empower the next generation of young women to break down barriers, in all walks of life.
Actor and Hello Sunshine founder Reese Witherspoon will be Executive Producer alongside her head of unscripted Sara Rea and Formula 1’s head of original content Isabelle Stewart.
Drive to Survive ushered in a new generation of fans, and this series could do the same for the F1 Academy. Through race drama and personal stories this docuseries has the potential to follow the same successful formula.

The Coverage F1 Academy Needs
The F1 Academy kickstarted last weekend at the Red Bull Ring but much to our disappointment there was no live broadcast…
But things are looking up because this new docuseries will follow each driver and give us exclusive behind the scenes access.
Unlike Formula 1, it will be an even more exciting reveal because we are currently kept so far out of reach.
But if the F1 Academy is going to drive change in the motorsport industry, women in particular need to see these drivers.
The F1 Academy has a huge opportunity to inspire women and whilst they have certainly missed a trick by not broadcasting the series live, this docuseries is a step in the right direction.

But what do you think?
The F1 Academy gets the drive to survive treatment in new docuseries but is it enough?
Or will the absence of live coverage in the maiden series be an error to great to fix?
