With this current revised track layout, no driver had experience on their side heading out on track.

At the Green Flag

The session began with an immediate yellow flag for Wildcard Entry Ella Lloyd who was stopped in sector two. A few minutes later she had some more issues with the car in the pitlane. Ferrari Driver Academy Driver Maya Weug led the field early on with a 2:07.154 ahead of Pin and Pulling. Lloyd’s problems were reported to be with the brakes cutting out.

Another yellow flag flew in first two sectors for Ella Lloyd stopping momentarily on track and a spin from Jess Edgar. Weug continued to set an even faster time of 2:0.192. Pin and Pulling also set fastest laps but were unable to beat Weug.

The PREMA driver continued to set fastest laps as others put in times. After Edgar’s tangle with the wall, her rear wing was damaged, forcing her to pit to repair it. Wildcard Entry Ella Lloyd once again stopped on track with an issue before managing to get moving again.

Nerea Marti and Chloe Chambers both set fast laps, Marti jumping to sixth and Chambers to fourth.

Final 15 Minutes

With less than half of the session left, Chambers set a purple sector to jump to second in the standings, just under five tenths behind Weug. Then, Rodin Motorsport’s Abbi Pulling set the fastest lap, finally knocking Weug off the top spot with a 2:04.696. Lia Block became the second driver to spin in the session.

Weug, Pulling, and Pin proved to be the strongest drivers of the weekend so far. All three pit as the rest of the field continued to set laps.

It was a rough start to her debut F1 Academy weekend for Ella Lloyd, who brought out yet another yellow flag after a spin.

The top three left the pits with five minutes left on the clock. Bustamante struggled throughout the session, setting a best time for ninth with a few minutes left to improve. Marti found a load of time to improve to second place, but Pin immediately set a faster time.

Marti and Pulling continued to improve in the last two minutes of the session. Doriane Pin set the fastest lap of the session so far.

As the checkered flag flew at the end of the F1 Academy Practice at the 2024 Singapore GP, Abbi Pulling improved on her time to top the session with a 2:03.993. Nerea Marti and Doriane Pin finished second and third, Weug close behind in fourth.
