Qualifying is critical at this track, with drivers aiming to get an optimal position for both the Sprint Race and Feature Race this weekend.

Preparation laps were underway, with the purple-walled Supersoft tyres in action.

Representative Laps

Sebastian Montoya set the first representative time of the session with a 1:22.982 for PREMA.

Roman Stanek quickly went into second with a 1:45.011 for Invicta Racing.

Provisional pole was then claimed by Victor Martins with a 1:44.559 for ART Grand Prix.

Bahrain Grand Prix Feature Race winner Alexander Dunne slotted in behind him with a 1:44.882 for Rodin Motorsport.

20 Minutes Remainingย

Montoya experienced a big lock-up into Turn 22 on his second flying lap, hindering his chances despite a purple sector.

Luke Browning went to the front row of the grid, going second with a 1:44.601 for Hitech.

However, Oliver Goethe quickly replaced the Brit with a 1:44.566.

The laps were flying in now, with the track constantly evolving.

Arvid Lindblad stormed to the top, with the rookie setting a 1:44.250 for Campos.

Martins proceeded him, with Dunne going into third just +0.2s behind the leader.

In The Pits

With 15 minutes remaining, all the drivers entered the pits to review the first half of the session.

Lindblad looked as though he was in the best position so far as he was quickest in Sector 2 and 3, a tenth up on Martins who was quickest in Sector 1.

10 Minutes Remaining

With 10 minutes remaining, the pressure was on.

Traffic was a factor for a few of the drivers, including Dunne, as they prepared for their final flying laps.

Gabriele Mini set a promising time of 1:43.842 for Prema yet was quickly replaced by fellow rookie Browning with a 1:43.737 for Hitech.

Red Flag

With five minutes remaining, the red flag was waved as John Bennett found the barrier at Turn 17.

A frustrating moment for the rest of the field who wished to challenge Browning, as they knew they would only have one final chance once the red flag was lifted.

Green Light

Bennettโ€™s car was recovered from the track and the session was resumed with 5:11s to go.

Another strong lap from Lindblad saw the rookie improve to second with a 1:43.737.

As the chequered flag was waved, Martins claimed another pole at the streets of Jeddah with a 1:43.601.

Remarkably, Jak Crawford was able to set an astounding lap for DAMS Lucas Oil, taking pole position with a 1:43.579.

2024 Formula 3 Champion Leo Fornaroli completed the top three for Invicta Racing.
