Today, W Series has announced the broadcast team that will be covering the 2022 season.
Earlier this week W Series revealed it had secured a three-year broadcasting deal with Sky Sports. The partnership means that Sky Sports will air live coverage of all qualifying and races up until 2024.
Previously W Series had been free-to-air live through Channel 4. Whilst this is no longer the case, they will still show highlights of all races and provide live coverage of the British GP.
The broadcast team for the 2022 season features some voices and faces you may recognise:
Presenter – Lee McKenzie
- Presenter of international rugby, Wimbledon, the Olympics, and the Paralympics for Channel 4 and BBC
Lead Commentator – Alex Jacques
- Lead commentator for F1 coverage on Channel 4
- Lead commentator for FIA F2
Co-commentator – David Coulthard
- 13-time F1 Grand Prix winner
- Commentator and co-presenter of Channel 4’s F1 coverage
- Chariman of W Series’ Advisory Board
On joining the W Series broadcast team for 2022, Coulthard says:
“W Series produces fantastic entertainment on a global stage alongside Formula 1, showcasing the talent of women racing drivers at the top of their field, and I can’t wait to see how the 2022 season unfolds.”
Co-Commentator – Billy Monger
- Analyst for Channel 4’s F1 and Paralympics coverage
- Double-amputee British racing driver
- Co-Commentator for the 2020 W Series’ Esports league
Pitlane Reporter – Ted Kravitz
- Presenter of Sky sports F1 since 2012
- Two decades of experience in and around motorsport paddocks
Pitlane Reporter – Amy Reynolds
- Presenter of MotoGP since 2015
- Worked in FIM MXGP World Motorcross Championship and the FIM Speedway World Championship
Analyst – Naomi Schiff
- Competed in W Series’ inaugural season in 2019
- Ambassador and presenter of W Series
- Sky Sports analyst and presenter of ‘Any Driven Monday’
On remaining in the broadcast team, Schiff says:
“W Series continues to be a success and provide opportunities for talented women in our sport. It was exciting to see the number of emerging young drivers at W Series’ pre-season tests earlier this year, as well as the established W Series stars making their return. I’m delighted that we’ll have even more races to watch and talk about in 2022.”
