F2 Qualifying | 2026 Miami GP | Maini Secures Second F2 Pole

FIA Formula 2 returns this weekend following a break, to race for the first time in North America

ART Grand Prix’s Kush Maini topped a closely contested Miami Qualifying session, claiming his second Aramco Pole Position Award of his F2 career, ahead of Rafael Câmara and Martinius Stenshorne.

Câmara Sets Benchmark

Câmara of Invicta Racing set the first flying lap time of a 1:40.441.

The 2025 Formula 3 champion glided around the track for the team’s home race. With his previous high performances during Qualifying, bets were on the Ferrari Junior for Pole. Rodin teammates Alex Dunne and Stenshorne set the times for second and third place respectively.

Crucial Session for the Bulgarian Lion

Nikola Tsolov, the current Championship leader, sat outside the top 10 with ten minutes remaining – placing him out of range for reverse-grid advantage.

The Red Bull Junior is expected to push hard against runner-up Câmara to maintain his lead in the standings.

Speaking to Everything Trackside earlier about his preparation, the Bulgarian said:

“It can be a little advantage because, you know, coming as a rookie, the others know the tracks, especially Jeddah is quite a tricky track to be going into as a rookie. So like I said, I’m looking just to keep the consistency going, keep the work method we’ve been having recently, which obviously seems to be working and yeah, stay focused.”

Push Laps Across the Field

With five minutes remaining, drivers started setting their final flying laps. Maini took an impressive Pole.

Tsolov was pushed down to P10, securing him the reverse grid pole position for Saturday’s Sprint Race.

Red Flag Ends the Session

With one minute remaining, Stenshorne had stopped on the track.

With no restart to the session. Maini took Pole position with a lap time of 1:39:888, followed by Câmara and Stenshorne to complete the top three.

Dunne secured fourth ahead of Mini who secured fifth.

Oliver Goethe, Laurens Van Hoepen and Nikola Tsolov secured eighth, ninth, and tenth place respectively, making them the top three for Saturday’s Sprint Race.
