After 4 years with the Alpine Junior Academy, Martins joins the Williams team for the 2025 Formula 2 season. He will be driving for ART Grand Prix in what will be his third season of F2.
Racing Success
Martins emerged victorious in a fiercely competitive battle for the 2022 Formula 3 title. He overcame six other contenders in a nail-biting Monza season finale to secure the championship for ART Grand Prix. Some of the other close contenders that season included 2025 F1 rookies Oliver Bearman and Isack Hadjar.
Following his F3 triumph, he moved up to Formula 2 in 2023 and made an immediate impact by finishing fifth in the standings while also playing a pivotal role in ART Grand Prix’s maiden F2 Team title win. In 2024, he continued to build on his success, achieving five more podiums, including a standout victory in the Barcelona Sprint Race.

Through Williams’ backing, Victor Martins will be able to hone his racecraft throughout this season, on and off the track. One chance he will get is in the TPC (Testing of Previous Cars) programme this year. He will be allowed to get behind the wheel of the FW45 alongside fellow F2 driver and Academy member Luke Browning.
“This year, I’ll put all my focus into winning the Formula 2 Drivers’ Championship with ART Grand Prix and maximising this opportunity with the Driver Academy both on and off the track.” – Victor Martins to Formula 1 Media
