Dino Beganovic Confident for 2025

Dino Beganovic burst onto the Formula 2 scene at the tail end of last season. As the Swedish Driver steps into the series full time in 2025 with Hitech, more and more people are taking notice of him. With Pre-Season testing complete, Everything F1 spoke with Beganovic about the upcoming season.

In 2024, Beganovic raced full time in for PREMA in Formula 3. The season got off to a hairy start. But the Swede soon came back swinging as he clinched his first win of the year at the Feature Race in Australia. He would go on to stand on the podium three more times, including another win at Spa. By the end of the season, he was less than twenty points away from the top three, finishing sixth overall.

Dino Beganovic’s Formula 2 Debut

Less than three months later, Dino Beganovic made his Formula 2 debut in Qatar with DAMS Lucas Oil. He finished just shy of the points in his first race. However, he then finished in fifth in the Feature Race the following day. At the season finale in Abu Dhabi, he impressed the entire paddock by claiming a spot on the podium with a third place finish and rounded out his stint in the series with another points finish in the final race of the season.

Dino says that these race weekends flipped a switch for how he was perceived.

“Those two race weekends in Formula 2 were very positive from my side. It definitely changed how some people were looking at me after last year’s Formula 3 season.” – Dino Beganovic

This change of perspective from some has also gone hand in hand with building Dino’s confidence for 2025. In the past we’ve seen drivers move from Formula 3 to Formula 2 and the change in them and how they perform has been fascinating and has often subverted many people’s expectations. Dino believes that these weekends in Formula 2 have helped to both alter the narrative and demonstrate that he’s a contender for the Championship.

“I’m very happy for that. Obviously it was a very good two weekends. I think it’s a good benchmark to start this year off. I feel very good with my new team. Hitech. And, you know, I just can’t wait to start the season. I don’t think it’s necessarily more pressure. I just feel like it just shows that I’m able to do it, let’s say and it just gives me more confidence for this year to be up there for the championship.” – Dino Beganovic

A Potential Inter-Team Rivalry

Alongside Beganovic at Hitech this year is Luke Browning. Browning competed for six races in Formula 2 last year but only managed to finish in the points twice. The combination of this with Beganovic’s own performance sets the stage for a potentially fierce inter-team rivalry in 2025 and will be just one of the many talking points to watch out for this season.
