Paul Aron took Pole in the F2 Qualifying session at the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix with a lap time of 1:30.028. Enzo Fittipaldi will start from P2 with a time of 1:30.096 while Isack Hadjar will begin P3 thanks to a lap time of 1:30.221.

Zane Maloney set the pace in Practice earlier. The Rodin Motorsport driver set a 1:32.668 on the Hard compound tyres. He was followed by Jak Crawford with a 1:32.801 and Enzo Fittipaldi with a 1:32.928.

Green Light
The Bajan driver continued where he left off in Practice, setting a time of 1:30.515. He was half a second clear of DAMS Lucas Oil’s Juan Manuel Correa. A purple sector one and two alongside a green sector three soon put Gabriel Bortoleto on top on a 1:30.269.
Kimi Antonelli locked up on his first flying lap. He finished just under a second off of the pace of Bortoleto and sat P16.
Championship leader Isack Hadjar was P5 while title rival Paul Aron went P7.
Red Flag
The Campos Racing driver Josep Maria Marti spun to a halt at Turn 11. This is the same corner that had him in Practice.

Green Flag #2
Drivers waited for their moment to go back out onto the Hungaroring for another attempt. Bortoleto braved his second attempt on his first set of tyres, which led to no improvement.
With 10 minutes left to go of Qualifying, the cars headed for the track. Enzo Fittipaldi began his flying lap while the rest of the field were not far behind him. It was P1 and provisional pole for the Van Amersfoort Racing Driver. 1:30.096 was the time to beat.
Aron soon clinched P1 by 0.68s. His rival Hadjar could only manage third, 0.193s behind.

Bortoleto improved his best time but was P4 ahead of Victor Martins. The Estonian tried again and got within 0.080s of his own best time but there was no improvement on his earlier effort.
Fittipaldi, Hadjar, and Bortoleto pitted, indicating that their Qualifying session was over with less than three minutes to go.

Bortoleto and Martins round off the top five. Hauger followed in sixth ahead of Antonelli, Maloney, Maini, and Verschoor in P10.
The Sprint Race will begin tomorrow from 14:15 local time. Verschoor will begin from reverse grid Pole.
