After completing a fantastic 58 laps on Hard tires and securing a solid P7 at the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, Alex Albon demonstrated his prowess with the Williams team. This remarkable performance not only marked his career-best position (at Williams) but also earned him six valuable points for the team, along with the title of Driver of the Day as voted by the fans.

Considering the limitations of his car this season and his consistent performance, Albon’s achievement deserves commendation.

“We have seen in the past that Alex is exceptionally skilled at managing a race and fending off rival cars,”

Dave Robson, the Williams Head of Vehicle Performance.

Starting the race in P9, Albon made a single pit stop for hard tires after George’s collision in Lap 12. His tenacious defense against Ocon, coupled with his ability to maintain track position while others pitted, allowed him to climb up to P7, where he ultimately finished.

In contrast, Albon’s teammate, Logan Sargent, had yet another disappointing race, resulting in his second retirement of the season at Canada.

During a post-race interview, Albon’s former boss, Christian Horner, paid tribute to the driver’s performance and revealed his keen interest in following Albon’s races alongside his own team’s.

“Well, I mean, congratulations to Alex. Well, I have been watching as much of his races as our own,”

Christian Horner.

Alex Albon P7 was helped by the fact that he was the driver for the Williams team on the receiving end of a new upgrade package. We will all be looking forward to seeing if this will help propell the Williams forward with these new upgrades going to the new recruit Logan Sergeant.
