Getting The Gossip From The Girlfriend
But, Fernando Alonso’s girlfriend Andrea Schlager has revealed that the two-time Formula 1 champion could retire when his Aston Martin contract comes to an end. And you can’t get much closer to the source!
The 41-year-old seems to be getting better with age, like a fine wine. Taking a third place podium spot in his debut with Aston Martin, showing that he can still compete against the young whipper snappers.
Alonso’s girlfriend Andrea Schlager is a TV presenter for Austrian television station ServusTV which covers sports such as tennis and Formula 1. The couple met in 2022 when the presenter was in the paddock, and it looks like they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Schlager is certainly close to the action, and she did not shy away from giving us the inside scoop during a recent broadcast; revealing that Alonso may not renew his contract when it expires at the end of 2024.
Alonso has a rapid car this season, but is that enough to keep him in Formula 1 past 2024?
They say age is just a number, and Alonso is certainly showing that age is no boundary.
But it might be a case of enjoying these two years of Alonso whilst we still can!
