Yuki Tsunoda has been confirmed to take part in the post-season test for Red Bull Racing following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Christian Horner, announced during FP2 today that Yuki Tsunoda, will pilot Red Bull’s car during the post-season test at Yas Marina Circuit. This decision marks a significant moment for Tsunoda. Who has often been outspoken about his aspirations to join the main Red Bull team alongside Max Verstappen.
Speaking at the recent United States Grand Prix, Tsunoda reflected on his desire for a promotion. “If I perform well, hopefully those guys [at Red Bull] will see it,” he said, though he acknowledged that the final decision is beyond his control.

This test run comes after Red Bull’s discussions with Honda, who has long been a key supporter of Tsunoda’s career. Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing’s team principal, confirmed the arrangement from the paddock in Mexico City. “Yuki is a member of the junior team,” Horner said. “It’s something we have discussed with Honda.”

Yuki Tsunoda’s Future
The end of season test will provide Tsunoda a more official opportunity to work with Red Bull’s engineers & team members. Additionally this test will allow the Japanese driver to showcase his potential in the RB car. Giving himself the best opportunity possible to be in the Red Bull seat at the next available opportunity.
“It will be good to give him the opportunity to work with Red Bull Racing engineers and see how he performs in a Red Bull Racing car,” Horner noted.
Tsunoda has already secured his seat at Red Bull’s sister team, Visa Cash App Racing Bulls for the 2025 season. However, questions remain about Red Bull’s future lineup. With Sergio Perez extending his contract until 2025, there have still been many question marks around his future.
Yuki Tsunoda will be racing at the Mexican Grand Prix with VCARB this weekend. Already putting in formidable performances in FP1 and FP2 with himself finishing 3rd in both sessions.
