Drivers Unite Amid Controversy
Red Bull Racing’s drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, discussed the allegations and their effect on the team during the unveiling of their RB20 car.
Despite the turmoil, Perez spoke of the team’s unity and determination to stay focused on the upcoming races, dismissing the situation with Horner as a distraction.
“We are a race team, and we want the whole team to stay together because we’ve been so successful. We will be able just to keep the whole team together and just focus on racing.”

Verstappen shared Perez’s sentiments, dismissing rumours of internal strife and asserting his continued positive relationship with Horner.
“I am very focused on my own performance to get ready, to be fit, to be ready to drive the car, to be discussing things with the engineers,” Verstappen stated, denying speculation of discord within the team.
“I can tell you that [my relationship with Christian] is the same as always. I don’t know who likes to write these kinds of things, but to me and Christian, it’s [the same] like always.”
While both drivers recognize the seriousness of the allegations, they are keen to focus on the team’s performance and the forthcoming season. “Obviously, there are some things out there,” Perez acknowledged, stressing the importance of unity within the team. Verstappen likewise concentrates on his preparations for the upcoming season, his fitness, and his life outside of Formula 1, including virtual racing projects.
Perez also highlighted Horner’s crucial role within Red Bull Racing, noting his significant contributions since taking over the team in 2005. Under Horner’s leadership, Red Bull has clinched seven Drivers’ Championships and six Constructors’ Championships. “Christian is a key player in our organization… We work well, and the main goal is remembering that we are here for racing and that we are a race team, and that we love it, and we just go racing together,” Perez concluded, underscoring the team’s commitment to their sport amidst challenging circumstances.
