Tim Goss, has left his role as single seater technical director within the FIA and is the third senior figure to leave the organisation in the last month following the departure of Technical Director Steve Nielsen and the Head of Commission for Woman Deborah Mayer.
We are disappointed to lose a person of Tim’s calibre from the organisation. Tim has played a major part in the technical department and has always operated to the highest level. We understand that his career is taking a new direction going forward and we support and respect his desire to pursue another path
Single-seater Director Nikolas Tombazis
Steve Nielsen, who left the organisation before Christmas will be replaced by Tim Maylon. Maylon was the FIA’s Safety Director from 2021.
Tim Mylon will oversee all sporting matters including Race Direction and the Remote Operations Centre in Geneva, he will report to the Single-Seater Director, Nikolas Tombazis.

Mylon has several years experience within the FIA and F1 as a whole. Tim has worked with Sauber between 2015 and 2016 before heading to DTM with BMW. He has worked with Redbull racing a engineer.
It comes in 3s
With Tim Goss heading out the door, the FIA will have to come to terms with a third high profile loss. Steve Nielsen left the FIA just prior to Christmas although both Nielsen not the FIA gave a reason for his departure, reports suggested that Nielsen had become.unhappy with parts of his role and that the FIA were unwilling to make changes to the Race Control Operations that were required to make it fit for purpose.
No official reason was given by either Deborah Mayer or from the the FIA regarding her departure from the organisation.
Is this just some unfortunate timing or is there more to the departures that the FIA are willing to admit?
