Dan Ticktum topped this afternoon’s timesheets for CUPRA KIRO on day two of Formula E testing in Valencia.

Despite the Brit ending the afternoon session with the quickest time, it was Mahindra’s Edo Mortara who was the fastest driver of the day.

Round Zero

The afternoon started with the field undertaking a mock race to test out essential elements including Safety Car starts and running under Full Course Yellow.

Despite the race just being a test, there was still a chance to win Round Zero.

As the drivers lined up on the grid, it was evident that there was no specific order to which position they took.

Several drivers within the field did not appear eager to simulate the race, with both Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato for Nissan falling 26 seconds behind the lead car.

Rookie Pepe Marti required a front wing change after being spun by the Citroen of Lucas di Grassi at the final corner.

After a mock red-flag scenario, all of the cars filtered back into the pits.

Nico Muller challenged Antonio Felix da Costa on the restart, with the Jaguar driver managing to hold the lead. However, he did later drop down the order as they ran a different strategy.

Mahindra on Top

Edo Mortara took the Round Zero victory for Mahindra, with the team also topping the timings at the end of the Tuesday morning session.

He led from Mitch Evans for Jaguar and Taylor Barnard for DS Penske.

Back To Practice

With the mock race completed, the final hour of Tuesday’s testing began. DS Penske teammates Maximillian Gunther and Taylor Barnard occupied the top of the timesheets.

With just over 45 minutes remaining, Evans topped the timings with a 1:21.980 for Jaguar.

With the first 1:21 lap of the week for the New Zealander, he clearly felt at home back in Valencia, where he was also the top driver when the series last visited in 2023.

However, Porsche’s newest recruit Muller swiftly replaced him with a 1:21.927. Nick Cassidy slotted into third for Citroen, behind his former teammate.

Dan Ticktum was the final driver to top the timesheets with a 1:21.746 for CUPRA KIRO. Despite being a couple of tenths off this morning’s best time, it was still an encouraging effort from the Brit.

It was Mahindra’s Edo Mortara who was the fastest driver of the day, showing some early momentum for the Indian outlet.

Formula E testing continues tomorrow from 09:00 local time.
