Rookie entrants may have sampled Formula E machinery before, but they must not be included on the Season 11 entry list or have competed in a Formula E race in their career.
Several drivers on the Season 11 grid had previously experienced the Rookie Test before earning their seat in the series. These include Taylor Barnard, Zane Maloney, Nick Cassidy and Nyck de Vries.
Andretti: Jak Crawford and Frederik Vesti
Currently competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship as the highest returner for 2025, Jak Crawford is the first driver in Andretti’s line-up.
Serving as the Reserve Driver for the team this season, the American does hold previous experience in Formula E machinery, most recently the Jeddah ePrix Rookie Free Practice Session.
Runner-up of the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship Frederik Vesti completes Andretti’s line-up.
Once again, this is not his first time sampling Formula E machinery, with the Danish driver competing in the 2024 Rookie Test with Mahindra Racing.
Cupra Kiro: Bianca Bustamante and Callum Voisin
Formerly competing in F1 ACADEMY, current GB3 driver Bianca Bustamante forms half of Cupra Kiro’s line-up.
Placing third in the Formula E Women’s Pre-Season Test for the 2024/25 season, the Filipino was also named as the Development Driver for the team just last month.
Testing Formula E machinery for the first time, Callum Voisin completes Cupra Kiro’s line-up.
Currently competing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship for Rodin Motorsport, where he has been for two years, the British Swiss driver is also the 2023 GB3 Champion.
DS Penske: Nikita Bedrin and Daniil Kvyat
After prematurely failing to secure a Formula 3 sear for 2025, Nikita Bedrin is the first driver on DS Penske’s line-up.
Becoming part of the team’s Driver Development Program, this will be the Russian’s first time in Formula E machinery.
Former Formula 1 driver Daniil Kvyat partners Bedrin, with the Russian driver building upon prior experience in the series, most recently the Jeddah ePrix Rookie Practice Session.
Since his six-year run in Formula 1, Kvyat has most notably competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Envision Racing: Zak O’Sullivan and Johnathan Hoggard
Current Super Formula and former Formula 2 driver Zak O’Sullivan makes up half of the line-up for Envision Racing.
Debuting in Formula E machinery at the Diriyah ePrix Rookie Practice Session, the Brit was also named as the Simulator Driver for the team for the 2024/25 season.
Most recently competing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, Johnathan Hoggard completes the line-up for Envision Racing.
After a three-year hiatus from racing, the British driver will be making his debut in Formula E machinery.
Jaguar TCS Racing: Jamie Chadwick and Leonardo Fornaroli
Returning to the series, Jamie Chadwick will join Jaguar TCS Racing.
With extensive experience in Formula E machinery, spanning back as early as two test drives with the NIO Formula E team during the 2018/19 season, the British driver has also raced in W Series, Indy NXT and ELMS.
2024 FIA Formula 3 Champion and current Formula 2 driver for Invicta Racing, Leo Fornaroli will make his Formula E debut with Jaguar TCS Racing.
The Italian driver is also the 2022 Formula Regional European rookie champion.

Currently competing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with MP Motorsport, the French driver is also part of the Williams Driver Academy.
Hugh Barter will partner Giusti, with the Australian Japanese driver also most recently competing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
No stranger to Formula E machinery, he participated in the Berlin Rookie Test with Maserati MSG Racing in April 2023.
Mahindra Racing: Dino Beganovic and Kush Maini
Current Formula 2 driver Dino Beganovic will make his Formula E debut with Mahindra Racing.
Kush Maini will partner his fellow Formula 2 competitor, although he sports significantly more experience in the all-electric series.
Serving as the Test and Reserve Driver for the team, the Indian has also completed sessions including the Diriyah ePrix Rookie Practice Session where he topped the timesheets.
Maserati MSG Racing: Arthur Leclerc and Theo Pourchaire
Returning to the series after five years, Arthur Leclerc joins the Maserati MSG Racing line-up.
A Development Driver in the championship during the 2017/18 season for Venturi Racing, he was then retained by the team for the following year.
Remaining as their Test Driver for the 2019/20 season, the Monegasque’s involvement with the series then ended.
Since then, Leclerc has most recently pursued a career in Endurance Racing, including the 2025 24 Hours of Daytona.
2023 FIA Formula 2 Champion Theo Pourchaire will partner Leclerc.
Although he was in contention for a seat at Nissan for the 2022/23 season, Norman Nato and Sacha Fenestraz completed the team’s line-up instead.
However, the French driver’s experience in the series includes testing the GEN3 car in early 2022, and the Jeddah ePrix Rookie Practice Session.
NEOM McLaren: Ella Lloyd and Alex Dunne
Current F1 ACADEMY driver Ella Lloyd makes up half of the NEOM McLaren line-up, also serving as a Development Driver for the wider team.
Placing 7th in the 2024/25 season’s Women’s Test that took place in Jarama, Madrid, the Welsh driver was labelled as “impressive” by Gary Paffett.
2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship contender Alex Dunne completes the NEOM McLaren line-up.
Announced as a Reserve and Development Driver for the team in January 2025, the Irish made his debut in Formula E machinery during the Jeddah ePrix Rookie Practice Session.
Coming off the back of an impressive FP1 session at the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix with McLaren Racing, the Berlin Rookie Test is another challenge on the talented driver’s list of demands.
“It’s definitely not easy […] I think I have a lot of things going on at the minute,” claimed Dunne.
“I think the fact that everything I’m doing is integrated with McLaren, […] FP1, the Rookie Test in Formula E so […] they’re kind of helping me as much as possible and trying to manage the situation to make sure it’s as easy as possible for me.”
Nissan: Gabriele Mini and Abbi Pulling
Currently competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, Gabriele Mini is the first driver in Nissan’s line-up, marking his debut in the series.
2024 F1 ACADEMY Champion and current GB3 driver Abbi Pulling completes Nissan’s line-up.
Making her Formula E debut during the 2024/25 Women’s Test with the team, Pulling topped the session, lapping three tenths faster than Chadwick.
In June 2025, the Brit signed a multi-year deal with Nissan as their Rookie and Simulator Driver, with this test being her first on-track appearance in her new role.

Just 16-years-old, the German driver currently competes in the Italian Formula 4 Championship.
