Santiago Ramos put in a lap late on in the session to secure a Trident pole position with 1.31.767 for the feature race on Sunday morning.
Despite disrupting running in the morning practice session, the Formula 3 cars were ready to go come qualifying.
He beat his two teammates, Leonardo Fornaroli and Sami Meguetounif, at the team’s home race. The team taking a 1-2-3.
The first runs saw PREMA’s Gabriele Mini leading the way, before a spin at the Tamburello chicane for Callum Voisin caused a red flag.
Oliver Goethe topped Mini’s time after the session resumed, before the field came into re-fuel and change their tyres before the last runs.
Dino Beganovic in the PREMA went quickest, before rookie Arvid Linblad beat his lap in only his third F3 qualifying.
Fornaroli then took the top spot once more until his teammate Ramos put in a lap at the end to go half a tenth quicker and secure pole position.
Lindblad ended up fourth, with McLaren protégé in fifth ahead of Beganovic in sixth with Mini, Goethe, Van Hoepen and Browning rounding out the top 10.
The F3 Sprint race sees a reverse grid for the top 12. So the front row for tomorrow’s sprint race will be shared by Tim Tramnitz and Noel Leon with the latter on the pole. With Santiago Ramos on Pole for the feature race.
