Rowbottom did most of the hard work early on, overtaking Senna Proctor for third on lap one and then NAPA teammate Dan Cammish for second on lap two. The driver from Kidderminster then cruised up to the back of race one winner Tom Ingram, who he overtook on lap four to take the lead. Being the highest placed driver on the grid with the soft tyres, Rowbottom was delt the best hand for race two and he definitely took it.
Sutton Storms through the field
Ash Sutton had a mountain to climb after his puncture in race one. But with the maximum boost allocation an the soft tyre, not much was stopping the 31 year old on his charge. Sutton had a great opening few laps, climbing six places on lap one which then turned into 10th position by lap four. Sutton was making light work of the field and managed to catch up to title rival Tom Ingram by lap eight. He overtook the championship leader down at tower bend for sixth place with no real fight from the Hyundai driver.
By the end of the race, Sutton managed to bring his black an yellow Ford Focus across the line in fifth place. A huge result for Sutton to recover some points after the disapointment of race one. He made a great move down at Clervaux for fifth position on Charles Rainford.
Ingram managed to keep his Hyundai in eight place on the hard tyres with Cammish just two places behind. The top three were the only drivers who ran the hard tyre in race two.
Jack Sears trophy fight intensfies between BMW duo
Charles Rainford and Daryl Deleon have had a set of great results in race one and two. Deleon most noteably managed to claim a comfortable podium finish in race two and the win in the Jack Sears trophy. His second of the day so far. It was looking like he could have gone a few places better with the gap between him and Tom Chilton fluctuating for a few laps. Eventually, Deleon dropped back and settled into a second career BTCC podium. Rainford followed behind in sixth place, falling behind Sutton but then putting the pressure on him right up to the line.
Reverse Grid draw
Dan Rowbottom picked the number nine ball for the reverse grid draw. This puts Aiden Moffat on pole position for the final race of the weekend with Tom Ingram alongside him.
