The 2019 British Formula 4 Champion joins the Redbull Young Driver Programme and will complete Formula 1 testing duties for Redbull
Zane had an impressive Formula 3 season in 2022, racing for Trident, he would finish just 5 points behind series winner Victor Martins. Maloney would end the F3 season strong with 3 consecutive feature race victories, before moving up to F2 for the final round of the season in Abu Dhabi.
Maloney’s F2 debut was less competitive, failing to reach the points in either of the races. Maloney stated that the weekend was more about having a clean event than worrying about the result.
I am thrilled to announce that I will be a part of the Red Bull Racing junior team and F1 reserve driver in 2023,” he said in a press release. “I am grateful for the opportunity and support and look forward to getting the season started.”
