PORSCHE AND AUDI TO ENTER F1 ACCORDING TO VW GROUP CEO

It looks as though Formula 1 are set to get two new entries to the Formula 1 grid from 2026.

It has not been a secret that VW group have expressed an interest in Formula 1, with the addition of the cost-cap and the decision to remove the expensive MGU-H from 2026 has made a Formula 1 entry an attractive proposition for VW.

Porsche look set to partner with Redbull from 2026

In an interview broadcast by Volkswagen Herbert Diess stated “at Porsche this is already relatively concrete, at Audi not so much”

The decision to enter Formula 1 with two brands may lead to a roll back of some other Motorsport activities within the VW brand.

Audi recently left Formula E and its own Le Mans entry seems to have cooled in recent months as resources had been moved over to the F1 entry.

Official confirmation of the entry is not expected soon, however it may happen around the Austrian GP, with Porsche entering a partnership with Redbull.

Are Aston Martin heading for partnership with Audi?

Audi are not looking to enter a team, but rather looking to partner with an established team, both McLaren and Aston Martin have been mentioned as potential partners.
