Marco Bezzecchi had high hopes on recovering his championship point deficit this weekend, but a crash in Q2 ended his race weekend early. The Aprilia rider suffered a broken left collarbone and is back in Italy where he will undergo surgery. Thankfully the summer break is imminent, so there’s time to recover.
Marc Márquez is the hot favourite this weekend, with a proven history of success at Sachsenring. A race win would see the reigning champion jump up the order in this year’s title fight, but there’s stiff competition as Fabio Di Giannantonio and Ai Ogura are also poised to potentially move up in the championship rankings.
And then there’s the new championship leader, Jorge Martín. A mistake could cost him valuable points, and a crash could see him lose the number one spot.
With the sun shining, it’s all to play for at the 2026 German Grand Prix.
