Following the conclusion of the Feature Race at Monza, Gabriele Minì has been disqualified from the 2024 F3 finale. This was also where he lost the title to Leonardo Fornaroli.

Minì finished P2 in the Feature Race and was on track to become the 2024 F3 champion. This was until Trident’s Leonardo Fornaroli passed ART Grand Prix’s Christian Mansell for third at Parabolica on the final lap. He reclaimed the points lead and the championship.

Officials found his car in breach of Article 12.9 of the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Technical Regulations. A post-race report from the FIA Technical Delegate indicated that his tyre pressures had led his car to not meet the minimum requirement with regards to its tyre pressures.

After a review, both of his front tyres were 14.9 PSI, which is below the required 15.5 PSI. His rear tyres were 14.1 PSI, again below the minimum 14.5 PSI, constituting a rules breach. As a result, FIA officials excluded from the Feature Race standings.

This promoted Leonardo Fornaroli to second and Christian Mansell to third.

Minì’s disqualification has not cost him the championship runner-up spot, however.

Others Penalised

Several drivers were also given post-race penalties. Luke Browning was given a 10-second time penalty after he was found to have caused a collision with Rodin Motorsport’s Joseph Loake.

This was in addition to the five-second penalty he received during the race. Browning dropped from 13th in the order to 20th.

Max Esterson was also served a 10-second time penalty after he was found to have a cause a collision with Noel León.

The third and final driver to have been given a penalty was Noah Stromsted. He was involved in an incident during the race with Van Amersfoort Racing’s Tommy Smith.

A 10-second time penalty was applied to the Campos driver who was demoted to 23rd in the classification.
