The second free practice session in Berlin started with the drivers flowing onto the track. Pascal Wehrlein, who missed out on yesterday’s session when his car halted, is in this session.

Wehrlein’s mechanics worked until the early hours of the morning, replacing anything that could have caused the car to stop.

Maserati’s Maximilian Günther is the first driver to break into the 1:02s.

Both DS Penske and the Maserati MSG teams, who share the Stellantis powertrain, had strong performances yesterday with Vandoorne placing third and both Masetatis just right behind.

Just hitting the 15-minute mark, replacement driver Joel Eriksson clips the wall at T11, peeling off the banner as he drove into T12.

With a little over 10 minutes left in the session, ABT Cupra’s Lucas Di Grassi tops the timesheets with 1:02.950s.

The red flag was waived due to a banner out on track.

As the session slowly comes to a close, Günter becomes the pack leader with a lap time of 1:02.177s, pushing Di Grassi in P2, whilst his teammate Kelvin Van der Linde, who is covering for Nico Müller, improves to P14.

Wehrlein had a better session today as he placed P3 on his final flying lap, showing a positive turn of events.

Yesterday’s topper, Antonio Felix Da Costa has to settle for P12, with Sérgio Sette Câmara right behind.
