MoneyGram Haas F1 Team retains both drivers, Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen for the 2024 season.
Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, both veterans of the sport will continue to race for the Haas F1 Team in the 2024 season. With experience bursting from these two drivers, it’s going to be interesting to see how Haas will develop as a team.
2023 Season
Haas have had a fantastic season for the team so far – making improvements on previous years. Both drivers have managed to score points, with some amazing qualifying results. Unfortunately, we have seen the team struggle to convert their qualifying positions in the race, but the team has seen major improvements and good strength in some races and qualifying sessions of the 2023 season.
Who are the Drivers?
Kevin Magnussen replaced Russian driver Nikita Mazepin in the 2022 season following the Ukraine Invasion. He has been a solid driver for the Haas team with this being his 11th season with them.
Nico Hulkenberg, joined the Haas F1 team this year after not having a full-time racing seat since 2019. This was after the Haas team decided to drop Mick Schumacher after his rookie season. However, it is clear that Hulkenberg has proven his worth with being top 10 in six out of the 12 races so far. We can only wait and see how this will improve over the next half of the season.
Comments from the Haas Team
Their team Principle Guenther Steiner commented,
“I think it’s safe to say that we’ve had an extremely solid driver pairing this season in Formula 1 and ultimately there was no reason to look to change that moving forward,”
“Kevin is obviously a very well-known quantity to us, and I’m delighted he’ll return for what will be his seventh season in Haas colors.
Steiner continued,
“We’ve had to tackle our issues this season with regards to the VF-23, we don’t hide from that, but we’ve been extremely fortunate to have had two drivers whose feedback is invaluable in assisting our engineering objectives.
Kevin and Nico gelled well right from the get-go and together they’ve both scored points, and in particular, Nico has excelled in qualifying – getting into Q3 on six occasions.”
Steiner is optimistic about the future and we look forward to seeing what the Haas team has to offer.
now it’s down to us as a team to look ahead to 2024 and ensure we have a car that’s capable of scoring points consistently.”
