ART Grand Prix has announced that Luke Browning will race for the team in FIA F2 until the end of the season.

This news comes after fellow Williams Academy Driver Zak O’Sullivan revealed that he could not continue the F2 season with ART GP due to a lack of funding.

Williams Academy Driver Luke Browning will make his F2 debut in Baku just two weeks after the end of the Formula 3 season.

After being a title contender throughout the season, Browning finished third with two race wins and one podium in 2024. The Brit’s championship hopes were squandered when a spin in the final race in Monza dropped him to the back of the grid. Both of his championship rivals finished on the podium.

Along with his impressive 2024 season in F3, the British driver also won the Macau F3 World Cup at the end 2023. He is also the 2022 GB3 Champion and the 2020 British F4 Champion. Browning won an impressive five races during his GB3 championship campaign.

After his successful run in what was a highly competitive F3 Championship, the Williams Academy Driver will be eager to make the step up to F2.

Formula 2 Future

Luke Browning’s promotion to F2 comes after the news that Christian Mansell and Gabriele Minì will make their F2 debuts in Baku as well. Mansell and Browning will compete in F2 for the remainder of the season, while Minì will only replace Ollie Bearman this weekend.

After his impressive performance this season in F3, Browning is no doubt aiming for a full-time F2 seat in 2025. The last three race weekends in Baku, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi will provide him with crucial experience in the series.

The Williams Academy driver will be hoping his time in F2 at the end of this season will help him secure a drive next year. Williams has promoted their F2 drivers to Formula 1 in the past, most recently promoting 2024 F2 driver Franco Colapinto to F1 for the remainder of this year.
