The most famous race on the Formula 1 calendar is finally here.
After a weekend where the barriers have already caught out several drivers and the fight at the front has remained incredibly close, all eyes now turn to 78 laps around the streets of Monte Carlo.
Mercedes arrived on race day with plenty of reasons to be optimistic. Kimi Antonelli is starting from pole, while Max Verstappen is starting on the front row with him. Lewis Hamilton has looked comfortable around the Principality all weekend, starting the race P3 ahead of his teammate, Charles Leclerc. Despite the crash in Qualifying, the home hero is starting P4, as Ferrari continues to show strong pace on the tight and twisting street circuit.
Behind them, both McLarens, George Russell and the second Red Bull remain firmly in the fight. Kimi Antonelli has continued to impress throughout the weekend. While Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris have shown flashes of pace despite a challenging build-up. Starting P2, Max Verstappen should never be ruled out around a circuit where strategy, timing and opportunity often matter just as much as outright speed.
But Monaco rarely follows form, with not many overtaking possibilities; Safety Cars are always a possibility. While strategy is often the only real route to change position, the race is expected to hinge on execution as much as outright pace.
