The final Dutch GP at Zandvoort has already delivered a major twist in the championship fight.
George Russell converted his Sprint pole into victory, holding off Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris. By doing that taking his third Sprint win of the season. Leclerc made a brilliant move on Norris for P2 late in the race. Meanwhile, Norris held off championship leader Kimi Antonelli for the final podium place.
Antonelli finished fourth, ahead of Oscar Piastri and home favourite Max Verstappen, while Lewis Hamilton took seventh and Pierre Gasly claimed the final point. Russell’s victory cuts his championship deficit to Antonelli to 56 points.
Ferrari’s pace will also be one to watch after Leclerc’s impressive Sprint, while McLaren will be looking for a response after Norris admitted they lacked the pace to challenge for victory. Verstappen will also be hoping for a stronger showing at his final home Grand Prix at Zandvoort.
With the Sprint now complete, attention turns to Qualifying for Sunday’s Grand Prix. Can Russell continue his comeback, or will Ferrari and McLaren fight back?
