The Canadian driver had much speculation about his future and whether he would be driving at all next year. Now, Stroll will be with the Silverstone-based team into the new regulations coming in 2026.
Aston Martin will have another unchanged line-up, their third year in a row, heading into next year. The team has been largely up and down in recently, but Stroll believes the team is stronger than ever.
He said: “I’m super happy to have committed to staying with the team for 2025 and beyond.
“It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come in the last five years; we’ve grown so much as a team and there’s still so much more to look forward to.”
Last season, teammate Fernando Alonso was the main competitor to Red Bull at the beginning of the year. A wrong choice of tyre in Monaco cost them what looked to be a good chance of victory.
Ever since then, they have fallen behind. Stroll’s best finishing position this season has been sixth in Australia. After 10 rounds of racing, Stroll has finished in the points only four times.
Mike Krack, Team Principal of Aston Martin, believes the Canadian is playing a vital role in the progression of the team;
“We are delighted to confirm Lance’s future with Aston Martin Aramco. He has played a key role in building this team.
“His technical feedback, alongside his committed simulator work, has helped contribute to the continuous development of the car each season.
“The consistency and stability of both Lance and Fernando remaining with our team is a great platform to continue to realise our ambitions.
“We look forward to creating some more incredible memories and achieving further success together.”
