Qualifying 1
The first part of Qualifying started off the same as the Free Practice sessions with Max Verstappen taking the top spot and the McLarens of Norris and Piastri close behind.
With 9 minutes of the session to go, the Williams driver of Logan Sargent lost control of his car going through the last corner and his the barrier, ending his session before it began.

On the return to the action the impressive Liam Lawson surprised everyone with a 1.30.972 meaning that the track had evolved faster than the teams had expected.
With the track evolving quickly, timing was going to be everything, unfortunately Bottas, Stroll, Hulkenberg, Zhou would all join Logan Sargent out of Qualifying.
Qualifying 2
Redbull sent Max Verstappen out first in Quali 2, allowing Max to set his marker for the rest fo the field to chase, he crossed the line in a 1:29.964, LeClerc was the next to try and match the Dutchman with a time that was 0.492 slower. Max Verstappen and the McLaren cars would not return to the track, happy that they were safe. Charles LeClerc would return to the track and stick a 1:29.940 on the board.
Unfortunately we lost Lawson, Gasly, Albon, Ocon and Kevin Magnussen, three of the five cars missing out on Q3 by under 0.100 of a second.
Fight for Pole
The final session and the fight for pole seemed a forgone conclusion with Max Verstappen putting in another fast lap, the Dutchman would take pole with a lap that was 0.581 faster than Oscar Piastri in the McLaren.
The Ferrari and Mercedes cars were left floundering down the order with LeClerc only managing 4th and Sainz sixth. Lewis would out qualify his teammate Russell but only for seventh place while car 64 would take 8th.
The day belongs to Redbull and Max Verstappen, who has looked untouchable all weekend. Although McLaren and Oscar Piastri are worth a mention, the Australian rookie will line up second at a track he has never raced on before this weekend.
