Red Bull’s Helmut Marko didn’t mince words when expressing his disappointment with Sergio Perez’s disastrous display in Monaco.
The Mexican driver’s weekend took a nosedive during qualifying with a reckless crash, relegating him to a back row start and an agonizing race day.

Red Bull attempted to salvage the situation by bringing Perez in for an early pit stop and switching his tires, but their efforts proved futile as slow traffic left him stranded among the backmarkers. It was a grim sight for the Red Bull charger, with points completely out of reach due to multiple incidents and five pit stops throughout the race.
Marko didn’t hold back his criticism, stating, “I hope that today’s mistakes are enough for the rest of the season.” The Red Bull chief further described Perez’s qualifying blunder as “not irresponsible, but unreasonable.”
Christian Horner, the team boss, echoed Helmut Marko’s sentiments, urging Perez to arrive in Barcelona as soon as possible, hoping for a fresh start.
As for AlphaTauri…
Meanwhile, in the AlphaTauri garage, emotions were mixed. Yuki Tsunoda lamented a brake issue that deprived him of a top ten finish. However, Nyck de Vries brought some solace to the team with an impressive qualifying performance and a clean race resulting in a commendable 12th place.
Although de Vries didn’t secure any points, Marko was pleased with the Dutchman’s progress, stating, “This was by far his best weekend for AlphaTauri.” Marko also highlighted de Vries’ improved performance, noting that he was much closer to Tsunoda than before.
Acknowledging Tsunoda’s talent, Helmut Marko also emphasized the need for the team to address recurring brake problems that have plagued them. Finding a solution to this issue is crucial for AlphaTauri’s success moving forward.
So while Perez endured a weekend to forget, de Vries provided a glimmer of hope, leaving fans eager to see how both drivers will fare in future races.
