EverythingF1 would like to wish Esteban Ocon a very happy birthday,
The 26-year-old was born in Évreux, and competed in karting from 2006 until 2011. During his years karting his parents sold their family home and lived in a motorhome to support young Esteban in his early racing career.
In 2012 he made his debut in single seaters, taking part in Euro Cup Formula Renault 2.0. He competed in 2012 and 2013, before moving into Formula 3 for the 2013 Macau Grand Prix with Prema.
Ocon raced for Prema F3 during 2013 and 2014. He won the 2014 F3 title ahead of Tom Blomqvist and Fq champion elect Max Verstappen.
2015 saw Ocon move into GP3 with ART. He finished the season with one race victory, and beat title rival Luca Ghiotto to the championship by eight points. three pole positions and fourteen podium finishes, nine of them beingconsecutive second-places, from eighteen races.
During 2016 Ocon drove for Mercedes in the first 10 races of that years DTM season. He was also a reserve driver at Renault. He made his F1 debut at the Belgian Grand Prix, replacing Rio Haryanto who had lost his seat due to sponsors not paying. He made his debut for the Mercedes backed Manor Racing.
In 2017 and 2018 Ocon race alongside Sergio Pérez at Force India. She had a good streak of finishing races, until an accident at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in 2017.
When Lawrence Stroll announced the takeover of Racing Point, Ocon without a seat for 2019. Spent the year as the Mercedes reserve driver, before joining Renault in 2020 alongside Daniel Ricciardo. He scored his first podium that year at the inaugural Sakhir Grand Prix.
In 2021 he was joined by Fernando Alonso at Renault, which had rebranded to Alpine. At that years Hungarian Grand Prix, Ocon took his maiden victory in Formula One. He fended off a charging Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel to take a stunning first win.
Ocon has a contract with Alpine until the end of the 2024 season.
