Lewis Hamilton has been dealt a three-place grid penalty for the 2024 Dutch GP tomorrow. Stewards concluded that the Mercedes driver did, in fact, impede the Red Bull of Sergio Perez in the Qualifying session.
The Stewards concluded that Hamilton breached Article 37.5 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations when he caused Perez to lift during his flying lap. Following an angry radio message at the time, the Mexican suggested that Hamilton compromised his Qualifying due to having to use an extra set of tyres for another lap afterwards.
Hamilton therefore was dealt a three-place grid penalty in the next race that Hamilton competes in – so his original grid position of P12 for the 2024 Dutch GP tomorrow would now be P15. However, with Alex Albon being disqualified from Qualifying due to a technical legality and starting the race from the back, Hamilton will start tomorrow in P14.
