Lewis Hamilton has been having a social media hiatus over the last month, which has been causing a huge stir within the world of F1, with pundits from all around the sport predicting whether they think he will retire or return to F1 this season.
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff even added fuel to the fire by suggesting Lewis was ‘disillusioned’ with the sport. What is important to remember however is that there has always been a contract in place between the driver and team.
Alas we may be very close to finding out whether we will be seeing the 7 time World champion very soon.

Hamilton has broken his social media blackout by partaking in a Mercedes Social media video, sporting a brand new hairstyle and wishing people in China a Happy Chinese New Year.
The 2021 runner up can be seen with his team mate George Russell on Chinese social media Weebo.
In the video, Hamilton looks directly at the camera and says:
“Hi everyone, I wish you a Happy Chinese New Year. May the New Year bring you good luck and everything you wish for.
Russell then adds:
“Hi guys. I’d like to wish you a Happy Chinese New Year. I’m excited to join the AMG family and become part of the world’s fastest family. See you soon and stay safe.”
Can this video be proof that Lewis is back to work and taking part in all the pre-season build up ready for the season ahead? We think so. But we were never really of the opinion he would be leaving.
Will Hamilton win his 8th World title this year?
