GEORGE RUSSELL TAKES HIS FIRST EVER POLE POSITION AT THE HUNGARIAN GP

George Russell and Mercedes will be delighted as the Brit took his first ever F1 pole at the Hungarian GP with a lap time of 1:17.377. Tomorrow we could see him win an F1 race for the first time in his F1 career. His teammate Lewis Hamilton will start tomorrow’s race in P7 after facing an issue with his DRS.

Starting behind Russell in P2 and P3 are the Ferraris of Sainz and Leclerc with lap times of 1:17.421 and 1:17.567 respectively.

It was a disappointing qualifying session for Red Bull as Checo failed to reach Q3 and will start tomorrow’s race in P11. While Max Verstappen made it through to Q3 but suffered with a power unit issue and will start just ahead of his teammate in P10.

Mclaren will be feeling confident about scoring points tomorrow as both of their drivers made it through to Q3 after having great pace during Friday’s free practises. The McLaren of Norris will start in P4 and Ricciardo starting just ahead of his old Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen in P9.

Also in the top 10 are both Alpine’s with Ocon just ahead of Alonso they will start in P5 and 6. Valtteri Bottas will start infront of Ricciardo in P8 after a lap time of 1:18.157.

Q1 saw the elimination of both William’s and Alpha Tauri’s, Latifi will start in P20 and Albon will start in P17, while Gasly will start in P19 with Tsunoda in P16. Vettel was also knocked out in Q1 and will start in P18.

In Q2 both Haas cars were eliminated, tomorrow Schumacher will start in P15 with his teammate Magnussen starting in P13. Also knocked were Stroll, Zhou and Perez who will start 14th, 12th and 11th respectively.
