It is today announced that four female drivers from W Series and Formula Regional will test a Formula 3 car on September 16th and 17th at Magny-Cours France.
The four drivers selected are young females who have shown great potential in their early careers. From W Series, Abbi Pulling (19, UK), Tereza Babickova (19, CZE) and Chloe Chambers (18, USA) will take part alongside Hamda Al Qubaisi (20, UAE) who has competed in Formula Regional and Formula 4.
Each driver will have the opportunity to spend the whole day testing a car, Pulling and Al Qubaisi on the 16th with Chambers and Babickova on the 17th. The aim of the test is to allow the drivers to gain an understanding of the category, the F3 car, and the different set-ups it uses with the hopes of them someday having the opportunity to take part in the series.
Bruno Michel, CEO of FIA Formula 3, says that the test is not to be seen as a comparison of performance but as an “opportunity for them to understand what is required from an F3 driver from every aspect, so that they can prepare for the challenges when they progress to our championship, hopefully in the near future.”
