The Right of Review process has now been reduced to 96 hours from the end of the competition. A further 24 hours can be added at the discretion of the stewards. The right of review was previously set to 14 days.

Rights of Review

During the 2023 season HAAS, Aston Martin, McLaren and Mercedes all submitted Rights of Review with only Aston Martins being successful.

In 2024, teams now have to pay 6000 euros up front regardless of whether or not the appeal is successful. The International Sporting code now states the following:

The period during which a petition for review may be brought expires after 96 hours from the end of the competition concerned, except in circumstances where the stewards consider that compliance with the 96-hour deadline would be impossible, in which case the stewards may extend this deadline by no more than 24 hours.

International Sporting Code

The International Sporting Code details the deposit:

..must be accompanied by a deposit, the amount of which will be set annually by the parent ASN of the international series; or by the FIA for its championships, cups, trophies, challenges or series. In addition, the deposit must be specified in the sporting regulations or supplementary regulations of the competition. This deposit may only be returned if the right of review is upheld, unless fairness requires otherwise.

The changes to the Right of Review are to cover all FIA-Sanctioned events which includes Formula 1
