With 14 rounds in the bag, it all comes down to the final showdown at the London E-Prix for the final double-header.
The drivers took to the pitlane for the first 30 minutes of practice in a challenging circuit, where a portion of the track is indoors.
Envision driver Sebastian Buemi was already on race pace, topping the first 10 minutes of the first practice session. Last year’s best race time was 1:12:342 and the Swiss driver was not far off.
Jean-Éric Vergne and Robin Frijns were also pushing, both having a moment on top. Frijns was able to best JEV, being the first driver to drop into the 1:11s. The Envision driver came back from Portland, securing a double podium.
Evans wants to win
Still in the fight for the championship, Jaguar driver Mitch Evans was the next to take the lead with the rest of the top 3, Pascal Wehrlein and Nick Cassidy behind him, until Sacha Fenestraz slid into third.
Nissan Driver Oliver Rowland also had a fast lap, setting the benchmark time of 1:11.574. He missed out on the Portland weekend, due to an illness.
After announcing his departure from DS Penske, Stoffel Vandoorne made himself known by setting a time of 1:11.318. He could be an interesting player in the Formula E driver market. However, his teammate JEV took home the fastest time of the session with a 1:11.290. The French driver recently set a record in Portland, with the most poles in Formula E.
