F3 Qualifying | 2025 Austrian GP | Tsolov Secures Pole

Nikola Tsolov secured his second F3 Aramco Pole Position of the season following Qualifying at the 2025 Austrian GP.

The Red Bull Junior, who is currently second in the F3 championship standings, made his mark on the field. Tsolov set a quick pace of 1:20.743, almost two tenths quicker than the rest of the field.

Tsolov Sets Early Pace

Nikola Tsolov set the early pace at the Red Bull Ring with a 1:21.58 on his first flying lap. The Campos driver comes out of a successful free practice session, where he was 0.158 ahead of championship leader Rafael Camara.

Fellow Red Bull Junior Tim Tramnitz had a strong first run, lapping only 0.064 behind Tsolov. Fellow MP Motorsport driver, Alessandro Giusti rounded out the top three, 0.033 behind his teammate.

15 Minutes To Go

After the first stint, almost all of the cars went to the pits. Austrian driver, Charlie Wurz had provisionally secured Sprint Race pole, after qualifying 12th

Rodin Motorsport and AIX Racing chose to run an alternative strategy. All of their drivers putting in fast laps on a clear track. AIX Racing’s Brad Benavides moved up into fourth, only 0.152 behind the Campos driver.

With 11 minutes to go, the cars were back on track.

Camara set the pace with a 1:21.011.

However Tsolov was quick to retake provision pole, going 0.084 faster.

Tsolov Secures Pole

Tsolov bettered his previous lap, setting a time of 1:20.743, seeking himself his second Aramco Pole Position of the season at the 2025 F3 Qualifying Session for the Austrian GP. The Bulgarian driver will start on the front row of the Feature Race, just ahead of Benavides.

Benavides secured his best qualifying of the season with a 1:20.919, only 0.176 behind Tsolov.

Tridents Noah Strømsted rounded out the top three only 0.002 behind Benavides.

In the Sprint Race, Australian James Wharton will start on pole for the first time in F3. After finishing 11th, Williams Academy driver Giusti will start along side him in the reverse grid format.

Championship leader Rafael Camara had to abort his final lap and will start the feature race from 7th.

The F3 Sprint Race will be held on Saturday 28th June at 11:15am local time.
