An early start on the streets of Monaco as Formula 3 started the day of track action. However, the narrow streets proved difficult for overtaking as Brandon Badoer won comfortably having over taken Theophile Nael at the start.
Early safety car on the Monaco streets
An excellent start from Rodin’s Badoer as he passed pole sitter Nael at the start. Tuukka Taponen was the first victim of the challenging streets of Monaco, hitting the wall on the first lap and bringing out an early safety car.

Badoer controls the restart
Once again the Monaco marshals delivered with minimal safety car laps. An excellent restart for Badoer as Nael came under pressure from Slater. Shin received a 10 second Stop and Go penalty for being out of position at the restart.

Badoer came under pressure with Nael ensuring he didn’t gain a comfortable lead. Unfortunately the narrow track resulted in very little overtaking for the next few laps. A race to forget for Shin as he received a 5 second penalty for speeding in the pitlane.
Monaco streets proving difficult for overtaking
A DRS train formed as drivers found it difficult to overtake on the Monaco streets. 10 second penalty for Matteo de Palo for leaving the track and gaining an advantage.

Towards the back of the field was an overtake from David on Ho on the outside into Rascasse. A big lock up for Claro as he tried to avoid a pileup at Rascasse. Barrichello entered the pitlane and retired from the race after clipping the wall. Deligny overtook Bhirombhakdi to take 15th on lap 21. Giusti locked up as he got frustrated with the DRS train.
Brandon Badoer takes the win
A late yellow flag was shown as David and Bhirombakidi colided on lap 26. The race finished under yellow flag conditions with Brandon Badoer taking his first win comfortably. The Italian driver was delighted with the win as Rodin took their second podium of the weekend.
