F3 Feature Race | 2025 Belgium GP | Race Cancelled

After heavy rain at the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, the F3 Feature Race was red flagged at the 2025 Belgium Grand Prix.

This Weekend So Far…

AIX Racing’s Brad Benavides claimed his first pole position in the F3 Qualifying for the Belgium Grand Prix. Benavides, who has had shown good qualifying speed this season went fastest on Friday with a 2:04.253. Championship leader Rafael Camara was only a tenth behind, to start second, while Rodin Motorsport teammates Callum Voisin and Roman Billinski completed the second row.

Freddie Slater, who makes his second appearance in F3 this year, claimed reverse pole position after finishing 12th in Qualifying. Slater, who is racing for Hitech this weekend, made his way onto the Sprint Race Podium in Bahrain.

Noah Stromsted charged to victory in the F3 Sprint Race at the 2025 Belgium Grand Prix, claiming his maiden victory. After making quick work of Slater on lap 3, the Trident driver was able to power around the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. Stromsted was joined by Ugo Ugochukwu and teammate Charlie Wurz on the podium.

Red Flag on Formation Lap

With intense rain and poor visibility, the F3 Feature Race began under a safety car during the formation lap.

AIX Racing’s James Hedley was the first to spin off. Meanwhile, Brando Badoer sustained significant front wing damage after crashing into Tim Tramnitz. The two incidents brought out the first red flag of the race, with Hedley and Tramnitz able to recover and make their way back to the pit lane.

With the rain easing, the race was set to resume at 9:05am local time. The F3 Feature Race was able to get underway again, with the cars filing out of the pit lane behind the safety car.

Race Red Flagged

Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak was the next car to go off track after taking evasive action on the opening lap. Inthraphuvasak, who claimed his maiden win at the previous race weekend, beached his car on the grass.

The red flag came out again, and with only 15 minutes left on the countdown clock the cars were brought back to the pit lane. While the on track conditions were better than before, it was the lack of visibility that brought out the red flag.

With 10 minutes to go on the clock, the FIA confirmed the F3 Feature Race would not resume.

Championship Standings

As there weren’t any racing laps completed, points were not awarded for the F3 Feature Race at the 2025 Belgium Grand Prix. Rafael Camara will maintain his championship lead, with only two rounds to go. Championship rivals Tsolov and Tramnitz both remain in contention, only 28 and 33 points behind respectively.

Attention now turns to next weekend in Hungary. Racing will continue there for the penultimate weekend in the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Season.
