Formula 2 arrived to the streets of Monaco for its first race of the European leg. Noel León was, once again, on the top step.
Roman Bilinski claimed his first podium, taking second place, followed by the ever-consistent Championship leader Gabriele Minì in third.
A Clean Start
León had a clean start ahead of Bilinski and Mini.
However, with Monaco always keeping its promise, Oliver Goethe suffered a puncture after contact with Ritomo Miyata.
Laurens van Hoepen was given a penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage, adding to his misfortune this weekend.
Bilinski Stays Brilliant
Dams’ Bilinski put on a fight, staying on the tail of León.
The top four broke clear early, with less than two seconds separating them by Lap 5.
By Lap 11, tyre management became crucial, though the top four remained closely matched, covered by just 2.7 seconds.
Approaching halfway, Dino Beganovic steadily reduced the gap to Joshua Duerksen ahead, soon moving into DRS range.
Incident for Inthraphuvasak
Inthraphuvasak’s promising race came undone on Lap 25, as a technical issue forced the Campos Racing driver down the order.
With Goethe and Inthraphuvasak out of contention, the race was surprisingly calm, considering the track’s reputation.
As the race entered its final phase, Nikola Tsolov retained fastest lap, while León calmly controlled proceedings up front.
Win Number Two for the Mexican
Noel León stayed a calm throughout, maintaining a comfortable lead from Bilinski and Minì to claim this second win in the series.
Formula 2 returns tomorrow for the Feature Race at 9:25am local time.
