Invicta Racing’s Joshua Dürksen claimed is second win of the Formula 2 weekend. The Paraguayan held up his teammate Rafael Câmara for second place. Campos Noel León stepped on the final step of the podium in the temple of speed.
Green Light
As the five lights went out, Câmara and Dürksen both made strong starts, with Dürksen moving into the lead as Câmara ran wide at Turn 1. Behind them, Inthraphuvasak gained two positions to move from P5 to P3, while Dunne and Stenshorne dropped places after slow getaways.
The field made it through the opening lap without incident. However, Dürksen locked up at Turn 1 at the start of Lap 2, allowing Câmara and Inthraphuvasak to close in. Câmara and Dürksen then traded the lead, with Inthraphuvasak and Dunne following closely behind.
The pit-stop window opened on Lap 6, with Invicta Racing bringing Dürksen into the pits first. The Paraguayan switched from supersoft to soft tyres before Dunne, León, Bennett, Minì, Colton Herta, Cian Shields, and Nico Varrone followed him into the pits.
Race Restarts and Quick Thinking
Hitech GP’s Colton Herta was the one to bring out the first safety car. The American found himself in the barriers at Parabolica and was forced to retire.
Racing resumed on Lap 16, with Dürksen making a strong getaway and pulling clear through Parabolica. The Paraguayan immediately opened a 1.3-second gap to Câmara. Dunne briefly challenged the Brazilian for P2 before locking up at Turn 4 and losing the position to León.
Further down the field, Villagómez and Maini made contact as Varrone and Goethe battled for the final points-paying position.
Câmara soon recovered from his poor restart and began closing the gap to Dürksen, with León also staying within reach of the P2 driver. The top three eventually fell within DRS range of each other, setting up a five-lap fight for the Round 10 Feature Race victory.
An All-Invicta Battle
The Invicta Racing teammates continued to lead the field. A DRS train formed behind Bennett in P4 as the battle for the win unfolded at the front. Miyata made his move for P4 on the main straight, overtaking Dunne to move into fifth.
Heading into the final lap, Race Control handed Stenshorne a 10-second time penalty for causing an earlier collision. At the front, Dürksen held off Câmara to secure his second win of the 2026 F2 Italian GP. Câmara finished second to complete an Invicta Racing 1-2. León rounded out the podium.However, Dürksen’s celebrations ended abruptly on his in-lap as his Invicta Racing car caught fire, forcing the Paraguayan to pull off the track.
Results
Joshua Dürksen led invicta to an impressive 1-2 podium with Noel León on the final step. Bennett and Miyata rounded the top 5 as Dunne held Tsolov off to claim sixth place. Inthraphuvasak, Oliver Goethe and Nico Varrone completed the point scoring list.
Formual 2 heads to the brand new tracks of Madrid from September 11-13.
