10 Different Podium Finishers

The 2024 F1 season turned out to be one of the most unpredictable seasons with an astonishing ten different drivers standing on the podium throughout the year. It was a surprise that had fans at the edge of their seats.

9 Race Wins for Max Verstappen

Despite a lull in the middle of the season, Verstappen ended the 2024 season with nine race wins. His consistency throughout the middle of the season kept him in the lead of the championship. However, his seven wins in ten rounds ensured his number-one position for the rest of the season. In 2024 Max Verstappen confirmed why he is one of the best drivers in recent history. In previous seasons, Verstappen outshone the rest of the field and critics believed it was all because of the exceptional car Red Bull had given him. However, this year Verstappen proved to those critics that he has the talent regardless of the car he is driving.

8 Podiums and All Laps Completed

While Max Verstappen may have won the lion’s share of the wins in 2024, one driver stood out for his consistency this season. With eight podiums and a flawless race completion record, Oscar Piastri was the only driver to finish the season with 100% of laps completed. This astounding performance is a credit to both the driver’s skill and McLaren’s ability to build a competitive car.

7 Different Race Winners

The 2024 season truly delivered on its promise of unpredictability when we saw seven different race winners throughout the year. Two of them were first-time race winners, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Norris also ended the season with the second-highest number of race wins. This statistic demonstrated the close competitiveness between drivers, with several challengers winning at various stages throughout the season. Whether it was a surprise performance or a deliberate, hard-earned victory, these moments kept fans on their toes.

6 Wins for McLaren

Although they didn’t have the strongest start to the F1 2024 season, McLaren had one of the most encouraging tales of the year. The team’s revival was characterised by rapid improvement and strategic genius, and they swiftly re-established themselves as legitimate contenders for both Championships.

5 VSC/SC Interventions in Brazil

The race weekend in Brazil always promises drama, but the 2024 edition took it to another level with five VSC/SCs across the Sprint and the Grand Prix. The twists in the weather across the weekend provided plenty of on-track action. It left the grid jostling for position and resulted in a shocking double podium for Alpine and Max Verstappen’s first win since Spain.

4 Consecutive Driver Championships

For Max Verstappen, 2024 represented an amazing achievement: four back-to-back Driver Championships. A feat mirroring that of fellow Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel back in 2013. His dominance over the last few seasons has been unprecedented. This year he demonstrated that he is not just fast but also extremely consistent. His remarkable streak confirmed his status as one of F1’s greatest drivers.

3 Reserve Driver Drives for Oliver Bearman

His ability to quickly adjust to the F1 cars led him to be confirmed as a Haas Driver for 2025 alongside Esteban Ocon.

2 Mid Season Driver Swaps

The 2024 season also saw two mid-season driver swaps. The first saw Logan Sargeant get replaced by Franco Colapinto from the final European race in Monza. The next replacement was the switch from Daniel Ricciardo to Liam Lawson in the RB seat. Both drivers showed their capabilities by finishing in the points on multiple occasions. Whether driven by performance or strategic moves, these driver changes kept the paddock buzzing and added yet another layer of excitement to an already thrilling race season.
