F1 Qualifying | 2025 Brazilian GP | Norris Dominates To Pole

Lando Norris claims his seventh pole position of the season in the Qualifying session at the 2025 Brazilian Grand Prix. In a season where every point counts, Kimi Antonelli and Charles Leclerc will start ahead of championship rival Oscar Piastri in fourth.

In a qualifying session that saw dramatic exits, Norris was able to hold his own, going fastest in all three sessions. Championship rival Max Verstappen suffered an early exit in 16th, while Lewis Hamilton was unable to improve from 13th.

This Weekend So Far…

Lando Norris has picked up where he left off after Mexico, going fastest in the only free practice at Interlagos. The Championship leader edged out Piastri and Nico Hulkenburg for the top spot.

In Sprint Qualifying, Norris held his pace once again claiming his first sprint pole of the season. Kimi Antonelli joined him on the front row, while Piastri started on the second row.

The Sprint Race at the 2025 Brazilian Grand Prix was crucial for the championship battle. Norris claimed another win adding eight more points to his championship charge. Mercedes was able to pick up valuable constructors points with a double podium as Antonelli and Russell finished second and third respectively.

A damp track and slippery white lines caught Piastri, Hulkenburg and Franco Colapinto out, all three drivers crashing out on lap 6. Hometown hero Gabriel Bortoleto suffered a massive crash on the final lap of the race, leaving Kick Sauber with a mammoth repair job.

Vertsappen’s Shock Exit

The start of qualifying at the 2025 Brazilian Grand Prix was delayed by five minutes as the severe weather warning plagues the São Paulo area. Bortoleto was unable to get out on track after picking up severe damage during his sprint race crash. the Brazilian driver will start his home race from 20th.

Liam Lawson set an early pace, however, it was Norris once again who went quickest. With the track improving quickly, Lewis Hamilton was able to make the most of it, jumping up to the top of the time sheets.

Piastri struggled in his early runs, only managing to get his car into 16th. Oliver Bearman has continued his fine form from Mexico jumping to the top of the field ahead of Antonelli.

With five minutes to go, it was clear Red Bull was in trouble. With many back markers jumping into the top 15, Max Verstappen struggled to go quicker than 16th.

Norris was back on top with a 1:09.656 ahead of Pierre Gasly and Bearman, while Yuki Tsunoda made no improvements from 19th.

The checkered flag flew on the first qualifying session at the 2025 Brazilian Grand Prix, with a double elimination for Red Bull. Ocon and Colapinto separate the two Red Bulls, while Bortoleto will start tomorrow’s race from 20th.

Bearman On The Pace

Bearman set the early pace around Interlagos, claiming the top of the timesheets ahead of the Mclarens. Charles Leclerc struggled early in Q2, only managing to go ninth before dropping down to 13th.

With five minutes to go, it was Bearman who led ahead of Antonelli and then Piastri. While the Red Bulls struggled to get out of Q1, Racing Bulls were flying around Interlagos, with both Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson sitting comfortable inside the top ten.

As the clocked ticked down, the drivers continued improving. Hulkenburg was able to jump up to eight, while Leclerc went third fastest.

Gasly, who scored Alpine’s first point since Belgium in the sprint race, was safely into the final qualifying session in fifth. Norris was fastest once again in the second qualifying at the 2025 Brazilian Grand Prix with a 1:09.616.

Lewis Hamilton failed to exit Q2 once again this weekend, ending the session in 13th. Hamilton was knocked out alongside both Aston Martins and both Williams.

Norris in Control

The green flag was out for the final qualifying session around Interlagos and the times were starting to tumble. Leclerc held off Bearman, but was unable to hold off Piastri, who went only two thousandths ahead of the Ferrari. Norris struggled in the first half of Q3, locking up into Turn 1.

Mercedes held onto their Sprint Qualifying form, sitting fourth and fifth after the first runs of Q3.

With three minutes to go, the cars were back on track. Bearman, who had been sensational all qualifying, made mistakes during the first sector and was unable to improve on his first time.

Norris claimed his second pole position this weekend, jumping ahead of Leclerc by almost three tenths. Spectators were left with a sense of deja vu as Antonelli crossed the line going second behind Norris, claiming his highest Grand Prix start of the season.

After losing time in the second sector, Piastri was unable to improve dropping to fourth. Hadjar slotted into fifth ahead of Russell, while Lawson led ahead of Gasly and Hulkenburg.

With the championship battle in full swing, and the wild weather causing chaos on track, it will be all to play for in São Paulo tomorrow. The Brazilian Grand Prix will begin at 2pm local time (GMT-3).
