Esteban Ocon is ‘fully dedicated’ to Alpine and has stated that he is excited to get back on track this weekend in MontrĂ©al.

The Frenchman was brutally dumped by the team after a clash with teammate Pierre Gasly in the Monaco GP.

Ocon is now on the hunt for a seat that will keep him in the sport in 2025.

Commenting in Alpine’s pre-race preview, Ocon said:

“A lot has been said in recent days,”

“So I am very much looking forward to driving again and getting back out on track.”

My focus and energy is fully dedicated to the team and maximising our results on track.”

It has been a challenging season for the team, with several disappointing results putting the leadership of the team in question.

Additionally, even our own Will Jenkins suggested the team is falling apart.

Will Canada be a turning point?

Despite this, there is some optimism for the team. Gasly scraped home in 10th to secure a point.

You feel the result may have been different at another track other than Monaco, but Ocon is hoping it will be a turning point.

“As a team, we’ve been making steady progress over the course of the season,” said Ocon.

“Hopefully we can carry momentum into MontrĂ©al and show similar speed as we did in Monaco.”

Fortunately, the Frenchman achieved a solid 6th place on the grid last year – so it is a track he goes well at.

He will hope Alpine’s straight-line speed issues will not hold them back this weekend.

Although, it is easy to be exposed around the Gilles-Villeneuve Circuit.

“The city centre has a festival atmosphere and also a French flavour alongside it!” said Ocon.

He will hope for a bit of that flavour -and perhaps some ‘va va voom’ – to bring some points home this weekend.

Now he’s in the shop window, it would be a timely reminder of his talents.
