Team Spirits High After Monaco Success
Riding high from their recent podium finishes, DS Penske is optimistic about their prospects in the upcoming double-header. Jean-Eric Vergne and Stoffel Vandoorne, who placed impressively in Monaco, hold the seventh and ninth positions respectively in the drivers’ championship. Their performances have significantly contributed to DS Penske’s current fifth place in the team standings. This weekend, both drivers are primed to exploit the capabilities of their Gen3 car, aiming to add more points and perhaps podium finishes to their tally.
A Look at the New Berlin Track
The Berlin track, known for its abrasive surface, puts extra emphasis on tyre management and energy conservation. Eugenio Franzetti, the DS Performance director, expressed confidence in the team’s preparation, stating that they are “motivated to do just as well, if not better” than they did in Monaco. With a completely new track layout for the race’s 10th anniversary, the strategy and skill of the DS Penske team will be crucial.
“After Stoffel’s excellent podium in Monaco, we come to Berlin motivated to do just as well, if not better. For the 10th edition of the Berlin round this year, we have a brand new track layout that will be a challenge for the drivers and the whole team. We also know that this is a very abrasive circuit where it will be important to manage energy and tyre wear. In any case, the DS E-TENSE FE23 will be the main ace up our sleeves when it comes to scoring more points!.”
