Daniel Ricciardo, 33 announced his departure from the McLaren team earlier this season, being replaced by fellow Australian Oscar Piastri, leaving him without a seat on the 2023 grid. Phillip Horton has tweeted that Daniel Ricciardo is now looking at options for the 2024 season.

With many speculations over the last couple of months surrounding his career and where he will end up next, it was inevitable that this news may come. Nyck DeVries and Pierre Gasly announced that they will be back on the grid next season with Alpha Tauri and Alpine respectively on Saturday at Suzuka, almost confirming any possible seat for Ricciardo may be off the cards.

The only seats still yet to be announced is one at Williams and the other at Haas, so there is no surprise that Ricciardo is looking on at the possible chance of a seat in 2024.

Phillip Horton, F1 reporter, posted to his twitter confirming the speculation surrounding Ricciardo. It is safe to say that we will miss a certain comedic Aussie on the grid next season, but hopefully we will see him driving again in 2024.

Earlier this year there was some speculation around him being a Mercedes reserve driver but who knows what the future holds for Ricciardo. With 2024 seeming to have limited options, it is a waiting game for us as fans to hear any news about where his future lies.
