Josh Cook claimed his 21st career victory and his first in a troubled 2025 season. He led home his former teammate and championship runner up Ash Sutton who took second position. Jake Hill claimed third place in his final BTCC race as he moves on to International GT racing in 2026.
Cook battles to P1
It wasn’t easy for the driver from Bath. He fell to third place at the start, losing out to the fast starting Jake Hill. He fought back past the BMW at Druids on lap two which left him to chase after leader Aiden Moffat. Cook made a textbook move down into Surtees on Moffat and clinched the place before the safety car came out. There was no looking back for Cook as he dominated the race and kept Sutton at bay all the way to the flag.
Cammish and Rowbottom collide
The two Dan’s clashed on lap four as Cammish was sent spinning across the Druids Hairpin with suspension damage. The safety car was called out on lap four to clear up his car.
Tom Chilton pulled his Hyundai to the side of the road under the safety car. He did the same in race two but from second position.
Safety car comes in on lap seven
Jake Hill was in the wars after the safety car restart. He was trying to overtake Aiden Moffat for second position around the outside of Druids. The battle went on until Surtees where Hill was put into the grass on the outside which allowed Sutton to pass the pair. Hill eventually managed to move past Moffat on lap nine with the inside line into Surtees.
Inches between Independant drivers title rivals
A fierce battle between Mikey Doble and Dan Lloyd in the last few laps of the race beared huge consequences for the independant drivers championship. Mikey Doble was backing the tentative points leader Lloyd up into Max Buxton and Nicholas Hamilton. Lloyd was playing very defensive knowing that if he gets into an incident he would lose the title. Lloyd ended up dropping behind Hamilton and Buxton but he had done enough to secure the Independant drivers title in 2025. The gap between Lloyd and his teammate Smiley in third position in the championship was just five points.
Jack Sears trophy goes down to the wire
Five points seperate the BMW duo of Daryl DeLeon and Charles Rainford heading into the final race of the season. Rainford took the upper han early on in the day, claiming the championship lead with a brilliant fourth place overall. But then the title swung back into the hands of DeLeon when Rainford crashed out of race two. Heading into race three, DeLeon had a five point margin over Rainford but the Philipino still needed to finish well to secure the title. By the end of the race, the pair were together on track. Rainford’s opportunity came on lap 16 with DeLeon out of turbo boost and he made the pass on lap 17. But that wasn’t enough for the driver from Horsham as he was still five points short of DeLeon’s total. Leaving Daryl to be the first West Surrey Racing driver to win the Jack Sears Trophy.
